I attended St. Mike’s between 1971 and 1975.
While there I fell in love with a number of people, Dr. John Hanigan for his passion for philosophy and playing jazz piano; Dr. Paul LeClair for his love of music, especially Duke Ellington; Joanne and Don Rather for their penchant for theater; Dr. Edward Fokey for his love of physics and his students; and Dr. FN ‘Nick’ Clary for his devotion to The Bard of Avon and his exacting ways as a professor.
I did fall in “like” with the following guys:
Ron Roy ’75, Dave King, PhD ’75, Pat Vaughan, MD ’75, Tom Wrobel ’75, Dave Lamoureux ’75, Sal Zieno, MD ’75, Tom Uryniak ’74, Charlie Crangle ’77, and Rick Lajoie ’75.
Over the past 41 years, we have gotten closer and fallen in love with each other through weekly emails, periodic reunions, sharing the loss of a classmate, celebrating marriage and welcoming of children. And, sharing the loss of a child.
In short, living our lives.
What started as friendship and acquaintanceship on the Hilltop in Winooski Park is now a lifetime of love for each other.
Thank you St. Mike’s for being there to gather us together and allowing these loving friendships happen.
