Queen of Junior Weekend

In the spring of 1968, SMC as well as the rest of our country was in turmoil. Martin Luther King had just been murdered, Robert Kennedy only had a couple of months to live and the conflict in Vietnam raged on. But for one weekend — Junior Weekend — everything was OK on the hilltop in Winooski.

We partied on campus, took the ferry to NY to party some more and on Saturday night we partied again at the Marble Island C.C. in Mallett’s Bay. That night Sandi — my date, girlfriend, love of my life and now wife of 48 years was crowned Queen of Junior Weekend. I don’t think my feet touched the ground for weeks. It was a terrific time for us and we could all put the troubles of the world on hold for a few days.

And OBTW-we even sent our first born, Kara, to SMC and she graduated in 1997.

Fond memories of SMC which has a special place in our hearts.
